Czech This Out: Prague, CR

Updated: Nov 8, 2018

Prague was the one place Robby was adamant about us visiting, which took me off-guard because it was someplace I'd never really considered! Knowing this was going to be Robby's first trip to Europe I was more than happy to add it to our itinerary. He didn't tell me until I got there that he had wanted to visit so badly because one of his favorite books growing up took place in the city.

The cathedral at Prague Castle

We both got "Prague Cards" upon arrival at the train station and visited five art museums on our first day in the city! The card also gave us admission to the castle and discounted admission to the Lobkowicz art gallery. It also came with a small bus tour of the center of town, which we took advantage of. We really made use of our 3-day cards and I would recommend it to anyone who really wanted to see everything the city has to offer.

The view from the old clocktower

Our first night, for dinner Robby and I split a traditionally prepared pork knee with all the fixings. It was one of the best meals we ate the entire trip and was one of the most fun to eat! Accompanied by bottomless beer, of course!

The Lennon Wall

I was told by a friend who had studied there that the best way to see Prague was from above, so we visited the tops of both the old and new clock towers. Watching the hourly automaton show at the new tower was as much fun as we could have anticipated! Of course we had to snap a couple pictures at the famous "Lennon Wall" before our train to Dresden pulled away!

Between Split and Prague, Robby and I spent a whirlwind day in Vienna, Austria! We visited the famous Museumsquartier and enjoyed some street frankfurters while walking around the city enjoying the city's architecture and peoplewatching!

Thoughts From the Social Internet

I had spent the summer before my freshman year of high school indoctrinating myself with the "vlogger" culture that was booming at the time - that had had about four years to make itself into the cult
